Web Design

While Indiana Daily Student managing editor of digital, I taught code basics, tricks and structure, edited and troubleshooted code breaks and issues and was a brainstorming partner to elevate reporter's stories with web design. Some web build-outs I edited and worked on include a feature on a comic book shop, an investigation into a preventable house fire and a deep dive into the power books hold in Indiana prisons.

I built my fair share of projects as well:

‘The program is doomed’: Players say Indiana volleyball coach Steve Aird created a culture of fear

Indiana Daily Student — May 9, 2022

★ Led detailed planning and collaboration with the reporter and editors on web presentation and rollout.

★ Coded a large opening animation, highlighted important lines of text and took advantage of our limited number of photos with overlays and placement.

★ Drew an anonymous volleyball player in Adobe Illustrator to add tangibility to our anonymous sources.

Everything to know about the IU graduate worker strike

Indiana Daily Student — April 13, 2022

★ Built a landing page in eight hours the day news broke on the strike to culminate and explain current and years of previous IDS coverage.

★ Page continuously updated with reporters' Tweets and new stories and lived on the masthead on the publication's website as the strike continued.

This landing page was revamped in the fall of 2022 as the strike continued. Check out my colleagues' work here.

★ Built the home page as well as organized, directed and edited all content.

★ Assimilated the three designer's work into one website with a consistent style and clean code.
