Multimedia Journalist

Hey!

I'm Cate!

I am the economic development and statehouse reporter at the Indianapolis Business Journal.

I spent a year with Inside INdiana Business reporting on statewide industry news and producing daily radio segments. Prior, I interned at the Indianapolis Star (x2) and the Herald-Times previously, covering a swath of topics including the Indiana General Assembly session, a faltering local jail and crime.

I'm an Indiana University grad. In college, I worked for the Indiana Daily Student, eventually leading the newsroom as editor-in-chief. I was named Indiana's collegiate journalist of 2022 for my reporting on a sexual misconduct case and public records battle with IU.

I have a life outside journalism too. I'm a soccer coach and hold season tickets for the IU womens basketball team. Outside of sports, I like to spend time trying new restaurants, tending to my houseplants and visiting my friends abroad.
